[Agent] CloudMail support, this is David. How can I help you today? [User] Hi David, I'm trying to set up my work email on my new phone but I keep getting an authentication error. [Agent] I can help with that. Are you using an iPhone or Android? [User] It's an Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy. [Agent] Okay. And which email client are you using — the default Samsung Mail app or Gmail? [User] I'm using the Gmail app. [Agent] Perfect. Let's set it up properly. First, open Gmail and tap your profile picture in the top right. Then select "Add another account." [User] Done. What type should I choose? [Agent] Select "Exchange and Office 365" since your company uses our enterprise service. [User] It's asking for my email address and password. [Agent] Enter your work email. For the password, you'll need to use an app-specific password because your account has two-factor authentication enabled. [User] How do I get an app-specific password? [Agent] Log into your CloudMail account on a computer, go to Security Settings, and then Application Passwords. Generate a new one for "Gmail on Android." [User] Okay, I generated one. It's a sixteen-character code. [Agent] Enter that code as your password in the Gmail app. For the server settings, the incoming server should be imap.cloudmail.com, port 993, with SSL encryption. The outgoing server is smtp.cloudmail.com, port 587, with TLS. [User] Got it all entered. Let me test... My emails are coming through now! [Agent] Excellent! The sync interval is set to fifteen minutes by default, but you can change it to push notifications in the account settings for real-time updates.
