Interviewer: Can you tell me about a time you had a conflict with a colleague? Candidate: Certainly. The situation was that my colleague and I disagreed about the technical approach for a critical feature. He wanted to use a monolithic architecture while I advocated for microservices. Interviewer: What was your task in that situation? Candidate: The task was to decide the best approach before the sprint deadline. My action was to organise a meeting where we each presented our case with data. I prepared a comparison showing scalability projections and maintenance costs for both options. Interviewer: And the result? Candidate: We reached a compromise. We used a modular monolith for the initial launch with a roadmap to transition to microservices in phase two. The project launched on time and the client was very satisfied.
