Dentist: Open wide, please. Let me take a look. Your teeth are in good condition overall. Patient: That is good to hear. Dentist: I can see a small cavity on your lower right molar. We should fill that today to prevent it from getting worse. Patient: Will it hurt? Dentist: Not at all, we will use a local anesthetic. Do you floss regularly? Patient: I try to, but I sometimes forget. Dentist: It is very important to floss at least once a day. I also recommend using a fluoride mouthwash before bed. Your gums look a little inflamed, which is a sign of early gingivitis. Better brushing habits should help with that.
