Transcript

Customer: I received an email saying there was suspicious activity on my account. Is this legitimate? Agent: Thank you for calling to verify. Can I have your account email address? Customer: It is mark dot johnson at email dot com. Agent: I can confirm that the alert was sent by our security team. We detected a login attempt from an unfamiliar location in Eastern Europe at two fifteen AM. Customer: That was definitely not me. What should I do? Agent: First, I have already blocked that login attempt. I recommend changing your password immediately and enabling two-factor authentication for extra security. Customer: How do I set up two-factor authentication? Agent: Go to your account settings, click on security, and select enable two-factor authentication. You can use either an authenticator app or receive codes via text message. Customer: I will do that right now. Was any data compromised? Agent: No, the login attempt was unsuccessful. Your data remains secure. We flagged it as a precaution.
