Student: Hi everyone! My name is Taylor and my project is about how different types of music affect plant growth. I grew three groups of bean plants over six weeks. Teacher: What were the different conditions? Student: Group A listened to classical music for two hours a day. Group B listened to rock music for two hours a day. Group C had no music at all. I kept all other conditions the same: same soil, same amount of water, and same sunlight. Teacher: What did you observe? Student: The classical music group grew an average of twelve centimeters taller than the control group. The rock music group grew about five centimeters taller. I think the sound vibrations might help the plants absorb nutrients better. Teacher: Did you find any supporting research? Student: Yes. A study from South Korea found that sound waves at certain frequencies can activate genes involved in plant growth. So there is real science behind it.
